The little terrorists(Poetry Thursday)

Reverend mosquito
You survived dinosaurs
You would survive humans perhaps

Little terrorists
Far dangerous than Al Qaeda
Our nemesis

You kill far too many than terrorists
The war on terror seems misplaced
Just count the tolls of malarial deaths

The war against terror
Would not be over
Till we eradicate malarial fever

What’s your purpose in the ecosystem
But to kill and terrify millions
World, find a way to these little terrorists’ extinction

Oddly enough
As much as I have felt the same way
Have wanted to personally eradicate the little buggers
Slap each one
The effects of the loss to global ecosystems would, without a doubt, be greater and more devastating than anything we could comprehend. Think about the sheer mass of mosquitoes alive at this very moment. Billions of tons of biological material. They assist breaking down vegetation and feed countless other creatures. Kind of like biting brine.
Talk about your necessary evil…

Hi Ozy,
Thank you so much!
Your comment offers a completely new perspective so I drop the idea of completly eradicating them but their existence in the present form is unacceptable as they are killing far too many. They should be so modified that they become harmless for the humans at least..do not take away peace from our lives!
Cheers!

Ah, but the folly continues. Genetic alteration on such a grandiose scale would entail government involvement and the next thing you know what was to be benign turns into the scourge of every living thing on this planet from super germs to ten foot tall mosquitoes. Just think DDT or malathion. Granted, last night as the little bastards were swarming me I would gleefuly have whipped out some friggin' agent orange on their asses...

Hi Abhay K
an interesting poem. It is natural enough to view aspects of nature as the enenmy. But "the deeper we look into nature the more profoundly we know that it is sacred and we are united to this life."
Albert Schweitzer

All nature is life affirming and the fact mosquities cause malaria is not evil or directed at us, it is part of nature and we can learn to avoid catching it,as we do with a multitide of other aspects of mother nature. Life is mystery, we do not have all the answers.
best wishes
