Life is Brief
(drawing courtseyHRW)
We would disappear
In the thin air
One day
It’s just the matter of time
So let’s make hay
While the sun shines
The rarity of life
Is so destined,
Only on earth out of nine
Yet the ways of life are so strange
Millions got displaced, killed
In vain
Life is so brief
Yet so cheap
It’s difficult to comprehend
Let’s value this quick-sand
Because lies ahead
The endless sea of death
Darkness and non-being

Thoghtful poem
Think of life as continuum, from the death of stars comes new life, our consciousness is eternal; where do your thought go ? they dont go anywhere, but our earhly real life remains a mystery, since we are trapped in our earthly dimension.
best wishes
Thanks Lindsay for the compliment, I could not agree with you more about the eternal consciousness. I am putting here one of my poems which i have written earlier
impressions
I was always there
As the blowing wind
Or the falling leaves,
As the shining sun
Or the flowing streams,
As the chirping birds
Or the blooming buds,
As the blue sky
Or the empty space
I was never born
I did not die…
A metaphore, which did impress me once, comes to my mind, reading your poem...
"Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with 86400$ It carries over no balance from day to day. Every morning it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day , what would you do?
Draw out ALL OF IT, of course!!!
Each of us has such a bank, its name is TIME. Every morning it credits you with 86400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance; it allows no overdraft.
Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against "tomorrow".
You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make the most today. We all have come to the idea of saving life".
