Roots (Poetry Thursday)
Go back to your roots
And you will find peace
You will find your anchor
Your cause,the reason to live
So far you tried so hard
To mix up and assimilate
The unmixable oil and water
Now its time to return to roots
Good or bad
Its there you belong;and
There lies scattered
The ashes of your forefathers
There lies your destiny
There lie your dreams
There lies your inspiration
There lie the words of wisdom
So go back to your roots
It’s there you belong
Where ever you may live; but
It’s there you will be buried

Wonderful poem again Abbhay. Back to the roots is so very true. You can run but can't hide from them!! Take care and cu in Amsterdam :-)
hello abhay, good poem though i had to contemplate whether i agree or not.. but as i always say there's not right or wrong statement when it's ex[ressed through a form of art... it's just a point of view... the truth is that most of the people(i can't leave myself outside) wander around literally and metaphorically to get to know themselves... though many things we can explore for us observing anything but us, the far more important things are deeply inside us...
i guess i said much, but as i already said i really felt tangled...
hi abhay, it is always good to be 'rooted'. But why this-
'So far you tried so hard
To mix up and assimilate
The unmixable oil and water
Now its time to return to roots'?
Hi Madd,
thank you so much friend!
Oh! I had not checked the Poetry Thursday prompt for this week!
Anyway i am so glad that you liked it...i'll visit you soon just a little short of time these days...too many things at the same time ..
Hi DA,
its been such a long time I heard from you...been so busy...
thank you so much for your wonderful words..I thought you were going to come to Moscow!
Hi Yieong,
Your comments never stop impressing me Yieong as they are so thoughtfully written. I can simply say that I sometimes think that they are better than the poems for which you write them...
thank you so much...keep on writing them..they mean a lot to me..
Dear Rachana,
it is because we sometimes try to mix the unmixable and when we do not succeed in mixing them we think that oh they can't be mixed and then we think of what really we are and why we can't mix...
are you happy with this answer...if not i'll tell you another one...
Cheers!
Where ever you may live; but
It’s there you will be buried.
How true indeed. Another evocative poem, Abhay. :)
Great poem. I love how you use the word "lie" like the poetry thursday prompt but with a different take on it.
Hi Bhaswati!
Many thanks for visiting!
You have captured the gist of this poem as the last two lines best tell us about our roots...
Hi Michelle,
welcome to I&U
Many thanks for your kind words!
Loved your noticing of the words lie...
cheers!
Are you returning to mother India... or just feeling philosophical?
Sometimes oil and water can mix into a nice salad dressing :)
Dear Gary,
I love your witty comments...and this one is one of the best...
Going great my blogging brother...just sometimes i get philosophical...
cheers!
What a gorgeous photo! Goes right along with your wonderful poem. We try so hard to distance ourselves from who we are, but in the end, it's the acceptance of who we are that brings us peace.
